The club was established in 1989 and at present moment unites about 100 children and teenagers at the age from 7 to 18. The club works in various directions and is oriented at harmonious in-depth development of the child’s identity.

The majority of club activities for young children and schoolchildren (from 7 to 15) are organized in a form of learning games, quizzes, and joyful contests. Game programs, making things with their own hands, drawing, and molding in plaster, various contests, viewing films etc. are practiced. Not only do the children attending the club spend their leisure time excitingly, but they also receive knowledge in Jewish culture and history. For that purpose a great variety of events, which help the children remember Jewish holidays, rules and customs are held in the club. Sessions on traditions, celebrating holidays and Shabbat provide the children with a possibility to touch upon the traditions of their nation and form their Jewish self-identity. Quite an important attention is provided to the activities of the parents. Thus, every Saturday a ceremony of parting with Saturday – Havdalah, which has both children and parents present, is held. Occasionally families altogether go to have picnics, visit museums, cinemas, excursions etc. The club strives to unite the children and parents for communication and consolidation of the Jewish family on the basis of Jewish values. At the sessions high school age kids (from 15 to 18) hold psychological trainings, role-plays, intellectual quizzes, and meetings with scientists and artists. Primarily all these activities are mainly intended to teach the teenagers adapt to various life difficulties and situations, develop their logical thinking, prepare for a life in a group of other people and adjustment in the society. On the grounds the club the “School of Madrichim” was created. In the School young people are helped in revealing and developing their leadership qualities, learning to plan, organize and hold events for children and grown-ups. An important part of the club activities includes creating conditions for developing children spirituality on the basis of human and national values. For that purpose various programs are organized to involve kids in the social-charitable activities. Thus, within the program “Gmilud Chassidim” once a week young members of the club visit the elderly. The youngsters are also involved in up keeping the graves of the Jewish cemeteries and other volunteer activities.
The club offers diverse educational and entertaining programs: • English language courses; • Jewish Folk Dance courses; • Choir; • Theatre group; • Circle of molding and drawing; • Sports activities (swimming pool, football, basketball).
Apart from communication in the club the kids go to outdoor recreational sites, organize sports competitions. Quite often there are meetings held with the members of children and youth clubs of Kaunas, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, and Klaipėda. These meetings are not only an exchange of experience but at the same time – getting acquitted and building tight relationships among the communities. A couple of times a year there are summer and winter camps which apart from providing an opportunity to have a wonderful rest allow the children to widen their horizon, attend exciting excursions, deepen their knowledge in the history and traditions of Jewish nation, and gain new friends. Despite the fact that interests among children vary a lot they are all united by feature in common – a possibility to receive knowledge, a desire to spend their leisure time and most importantly – the wish to communicate.
