The second session of the International Forum of Young Scholars took place in Vilnius on July 17-22. The Forum unites young scholars whose academic interests are connected to the study of the history of the Jews of Eastern Europe. The Forum was organized by the East European Center for the study of Jewish culture and history, and was attended by 20 young scholars from the USA, Russia, Israel, Austria, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Germany.

Seminars were led by acclaimed scholars, professors Israel Barthay, Zvi Gitelman, Karl Shlegel, and Jonathan Frenkel, who shared their experiences with the young academics, discussed present-day trends in the study of East European Jewish history, and presented their own new research in this sphere.
