September 21-22, Israeli president Moshe Katsav came to Lithuania with official visit.

In the course of the foregoing visit, Israeli President M. Katsav met with the President of the Republic of Lithuania V. Adamkus, Prime Minister A. Brazauskas, Seimas Chairman A. Paulauskas and the members of the Lithuanian Jewish Community.

Marking the Day of the Commemoration of the Victims of the Genocide of the Jews in Lithuania, the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus presented the Cross of Rescuers of the Dying to those persons who, despite the mortal danger to themselves and their families, helped people of Jewish origin from the Nazi genocide during the Second World War.
